Employment program a hit for Killarney Court Aged Care facility

The solution was for both organisations to work in partnership to deliver a CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support employment program for 16 students.

Initial student screening was completed by ET Australia to determine program and employment suitability.
Final student selection was completed by Killarney Court and ET Australia staff via two information sessions and one on one interviews.

The employment program was delivered on site at Killarney Court’s premises.
Killarney Court’s policies and procedures were integrated into the CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support training.

Students had the opportunity to get to know Killarney Court staff along with the residents.
Killarney Court management were able to identify students to fill staff vacancies during the employment program. The transition for students selected for employment will be seamless given the learning and opportunities the students were exposed to during the program.

Facility Manager of Killarney Court Aged Care, Danielle Parry, and management were so impressed by the employment program they have committed to partnering with ET Australia to deliver another program to commence in February 2018.

Student feedback about the program has been positive with students Elizabeth and Cassandra commenting:

‘We saw the benefit of onsite “in facility” based training at Killarney Court. The hands on approach to our training is amazingly helpful’. Elizabeth

‘Learning at the care facility at Killarney Vale opens a whole world of learning opportunities and allows for “hands on” training within a functioning aged care facility’. Cassandra

The Killarney Court employment program is now in the final stages of wrapping up.
Students are currently completing mandatory work placement hours and final assessment work for award of their qualification.
